Deacs Selected to NCAA Tournament; Draw Memphis in First Round of Tennessee Regional

The Demon Deacons will open tournament play against the Tigers on Saturday, May 6 at 10 a.m.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Coming off a semifinal appearance in the ACC Championships, the Wake Forest men's tennis team was selected to the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Tournament, as announced on NCAA.com Monday evening.
The Demon Deacons (25-11, 7-5 ACC) will travel to Knoxville, Tenn. to participate in the Tennessee Regional, which features Memphis, Belmont and host Tennessee.
Wake Forest will open the tournament facing Memphis on Saturday, May 6 at 10 a.m., with the winner moving on to face the winner of Belmont and Tennessee.
Monday's nod marked the Demon Deacons' 10th-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and their 22nd all-time. Under the direction of head coach Tony Bresky, Wake Forest has advanced past the first round of the annual tournament in each of the last eight seasons.
This season, Wake Forest accumulated an 11-10 record against ranked opponents. The Demon Deacons have been led in singles by reigning ACC Player of the Year and No. 2-ranked Melios Efstathiou.

2023 NCAA DI Men's Tennis Tournament
First and second round competition takes place May 5-6 or 6-7 and features four teams playing in a single-elimination format. The winner of each site advances to super-regional competition May 12 or 13. Each super-regional site will feature two teams playing a single-elimination format. The super-regional winners advance to the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, where the eight teams will compete for the national championship May 18-20. This year's event will be conducted jointly with the NCAA Divisions II and III Men's and Women's Tennis Championships and hosted by the University of Central Florida and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.
