Addition of Miller Boosts Demon Deacon Backcourt

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's basketball program and head coach Steve Forbes have announced the addition of undergraduate transfer Kevin Miller to the squad beginning in the fall of 2023. Miller will join the Deacs from Central Michigan and have two years of eligibility remaining.

In his two-year career at Central Michigan, Miller played in 34 games with 32 starts, averaged 13.8 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game. He averaged 33.2 minutes played per game, shot 43.4 percent (171-394) from the floor, 36.1 percent (35-97) from three-point range and 77.8 percent (91-117) on free throws. He also finished his time at CMU with 37 steals.
 
At the beginning of the 2022-23 season, the Chicago native earned Preseason Second Team All-MAC honors. He only played in four of 31 games due to injury, but averaged 18.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game. He shot 51.9 percent (27-52) from the floor, 3-8 from three-point range and 17-22 on free throws. The sophomore scored 14+ points in each of the four contests.
 
As a freshman in 2021-22, Miller earned All-MAC Honorable Mention honors and was named to the MAC All-Freshman team. In his first collegiate season, he led the Chippewas in scoring (13.1 points per game), assists (139), steals (34), and minutes per game (32.9). He also averaged 15.2 points per game in league play.
 
Miller led the conference during league play in assists per game (5.4) and minutes played per game (37.6), ranked ninth in assist/turnover ratio (1.8), was 12th in scoring (15.2), 15th in three-point field goal percentage and 16th in steals (1.2). He scored 20 or more points five times and reached double-figure scoring in 20 contests on the season. His best run came in February 2022 when he scored 20 or more points in three consecutive games from 2/10-2/15.
 
He led the Chippewas in scoring nine times and rebounding three times and ended the season with six straight double figure scoring games. He scored 13 points with eight rebounds in 40 minutes played in the MAC Championship game vs. Toledo on March 10, 2022.
