Multiple championships and countless memories highlighted a successful 2022-23 academic year.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The 2022-23 academic year brought forth many memorable moments for the Wake Forest and Winston-Salem community, but the highlight came in the spring when the Demon Deacons women's golf team won its first NCAA Championship and Wake Forest University's 10th national title overall. Wake Forest is now one of only seven ACC schools to win 10 or more national championships, along with Notre Dame, North Carolina, Virginia, Duke, Syracuse and Florida State.

Led by 2023 WGCA National Coach of the Year Kim Lewellen and back-to-back ACC Player of the Year Rachel Kuehn and her All-American teammates, the Deacs defeated USC in a memorable match play final at the NCAA Championships.

Additionally this past year, the Deacs went to its seventh-straight bowl game and earned their fifth bowl win in that span, Wake's ACC Men's Cross Country team won the school's 56th conference title, field hockey returned to the NCAA Tournament and head coach Jen Averill was named the conference's Coach of the Year, and the Diamond Deacs had a historic season in the spring.

In front of record crowds, including a program record four sellouts and national television audiences tallying more than six million fans at the Men's College World Series, ACC Coach of the Year Tom Walter's ballclub was ranked in the top-five for the entirety of the season and the Deacs finished the year with a 54-12 record and earned an ACC regular season title after winning every conference series.

Academically, a record total of 317 Wake Forest student-athletes have earned spots on the 2022-23 Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll, which marks the fourth-consecutive year that the Demon Deacons have landed more than 280 student-athletes on the ACC Academic Honor Roll. Overall, 317 student-athletes represent 70 percent of the all Demon Deacon student-athletes! Additionally, this was the fourth-consecutive year that over 50 percent of the student-athletes have landed on the list.

Wake Forest is a combination of world-class academics, unrivaled campus experience, intimate learning environment and Power 5 athletics in a top-growing metro market. Academically, Wake Forest is ranked in the Top 30 Nationally by U.S. News and World Report for the past 27 years (and counting) and ranked 21st Nationally in Undergraduate Teaching according to the 2022-23 US News and World Report. Wake Forest's comprehensive excellence includes its highly regarded school of medicine, business school, law school and an innovative department of engineering.
