Wake Forest Opens at No. 1 in Perfect Game Preseason Top 25

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - For the first time in program history, the Demon Deacons will open the season at No. 1 in Perfect Game's preseason top 25.
Wake Forest opened the 2023 season at No. 5 by the publication a year ago before embarking on the winningest season in program history as the Deacs went 54-12.
Perfect Game is the first of the five major preseason polls to be released, with Baseball America, D1Baseball, NCBWA and USA Today Coaches set to be announced prior to Opening Day.
The Deacs will face off against seven preseason top 25 opponents over the course of the 2024 season including 10 matchups at David F. Couch Ballpark.
Head Coach Tom Walter enters his 15th season as the Demon Deacons skipper returning five position players and 11 pitchers while welcoming the top transfer class and No. 23 recruiting crop to Winston-Salem.
The ACC placed six teams in the poll with Wake (No. 1), Virginia (No. 10), North Carolina (No.14), NC State (No. 19), Clemson (No. 21) and Duke (No. 23).
