Williams and Hinds Set to Represent Wake Forest at 2024 ACC Tip Off

The annual event is slated for Oct. 8 in Charlotte.
CHARLOTTE – Wake Forest women's basketball guards Elise Williams and Demeara Hinds, along with head coach Megan Gebbia are set to represent the Demon Deacons at the 2024 ACC Tip Off on Tuesday, Oct. 8 in Charlotte, N.C.
The entire event can be seen live on ACC Network, as well as on the ESPN App. The Demon Deacons will be in the main press conference room at 4:00 p.m. and fans can watch that live on ACC Network Extra. Additionally, Wake Forest will be live on ACC Network twice throughout the day with Williams and Hinds at 2:00 p.m. and Coach Gebbia at 4:15 p.m.

Opening Night Right Around the Corner
Wake Forest is one month away from tipping its season on Monday, Nov. 4 against in-state Queens.
Highlighted by eight matchups at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum, the Demon Deacons non-conference slate features 11 contests in total.

Women's Basketball Preseason Overview
Megan Gebbia enters her third season as the head coach of the Wake Forest women's basketball program, looking to build off the first two years of experience with a strong core returning and the addition of transfer veterans.
During the 2023-24 season, the Demon Deacons were challenged against one of the top-10 toughest schedules in the country. This includes 11 games against NET top-50 teams and 23 teams in the NET top-100.
The Demon Deacons will be led by rising fifth-year Elise Williams who put on a show at the end of last season. Williams, who is averaging 13.3 points per game over the course of the entire season, played some of her best basketball during the month February:
Those numbers helped Williams become the 31st player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark and she goes into the season ranked 28th in scoring in program history with 1,065 career points.
Williams led the team with 47 threes made over the course of the season. Overall, Wake Forest knocked down 204 threes during last season which ranks fourth in program history:
Additionally, the Deacs saw a massive uptick in free throw shooting percentage, going from 66.0 percent (343-of-520) last season to 72.5 percent (324-of-447) this season.
Not only did the Deacs have a resurgent season at the line but one of the best in program history:
