The Matchup
  • Wake Forest and Boston College will share the pitch for the 19th-straight season in Saturday evening's ACC clash.
  • The Demon Deacons enter the contest with a 4-3-3 overall record and are 1-1-1 in ACC action. The Deacs are currently riding a two-match winning streak following an exhilarating 2-1 comeback performance over Syracuse before a dominant 2-0 showing against ETSU on Tuesday.
  • The Eagles, meanwhile, are 3-2-5 on the year and have picked up a pair of points in the ACC with draws against Syracuse and Louisville.
  • Dating back to a 1-1 draw with Syracuse last September, Wake Forest has earned at least one point in nine of its last 10 ACC regular season matches.
  • Through Tuesday night's action, Wake Forest ranks No. 1 nationally in total shots (209), shots per game (20.9), total shots on goal (89) and shots on goal per game (8.9). The Demon Deacons are currently the only program in the country with more than 200 shots.
Last Time Out
  • Returning to Spry to begin a three-match homestand, the Demon Deacons utilized a complete team effort to record a 2-0 clean sheet victory over ETSU.
  • Despite going into the halftime break knotted at 0-0, Wake Forest logged a pair of goals in the 61st and 65th minutes, as graduate Colin Thomas and junior Cooper Flax found the back of the net.
  • The goal was Thomas' first since the 2022 season while Flax has set a new career-high for goals in a season with three.
  • In total, Wake Forest recorded 28 shots to ETSU's five while the 17 shots on goal matched a season-high previously set against Central Arkansas in a 3-2 victory on Aug. 25.
  • Additionally, the Deacs held possession for 62 percent of the match while connecting more than 650 passes as 22 Demon Deacons contributed to the victory.
  • Senior Trace Alphin and redshirt freshman Jonah Mednard, who made his collegiate debut, combined to preserve the shutout in goal.
The Spry Advantage
  • Since head coach Bobby Muuss' arrival in 2015 along with the coaching staff of associate head coaches Dane Brenner and Steve Armas along with assistant coach Ade Taiwo, Wake Forest ranks No. 1 nationally in home wins (105), 18 more than any other program nationally during that span and 21 more than any ACC program.
  • Over the last 10 seasons, the Deacs have won at least eight of their matches at Spry Stadium including a double-digit win total seven of those seasons.
  • Wake Forest's home winning percentage of 81.8 percent since 2015 also ranks third nationally, behind only Indiana (83.6) and Denver (82.9).
  • Over the last 10 years against ACC opponents in home regular season action, Wake Forest is 30-3-6 at Spry and currently on a seven-match unbeaten streak.
Scouting the Eagles
  • Boston College has been led by the dynamic scoring acumen of Ask Ekeland, as the Duquesne transfer has scored six times on the season including an 86th-minute equalizer against Louisville last Sunday.
  • Defensively, Boston College is anchored by redshirt senior goalkeeper Brennan Klein as he has played every minute in goal while recording 28 saves.
  • The Deacs are 12-7-2 all-time against the Eagles including a 6-1-1 record in matches played at Spry Stadium.
  • In Wake Forest's last home match against Boston College, the Deacs scored a 3-1 victory on Oct. 15, 2022.
  • Wake Forest holds a 7-2-0 record against Boston College under 10th-year head coach Bobby Muuss.
Looking Ahead
  • Wake Forest will close out a three-match hosting Wofford for the third-straight season on Tuesday night at Spry.
  • Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
