This marks the program’s 23rd NCAA Tournament appearance and third in the last four years.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – For the third time in the last four seasons, the No. 3-ranked Wake Forest women's soccer team has been selected to the 2024 NCAA Tournament as a No. 2 seed. The Demon Deacons will host Morehead State in the first round on Friday, Nov. 15 at Spry Stadium.
The first-round clash with the Eagles is slated for 6 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase now starting at $5 for the hill, $10 for general admission and $15 for chairback.
The Deacs will be making their 23rd all-time appearance in the tournament, with 22 coming under the helm of head coach Tony da Luz.
This season has already seen plenty of success for the Demon Deacons, as the squad has recently been ranked as high as No. 2 in the country, the highest ranking in program history. This comes after four-ranked wins on the year, including Wake Forest's first-ever win over a No. 1-ranked team on Sept. 19 with a 1-0 victory against Stanford.
The Deacs also became the first team in NCAA history to take down a No. 1-ranked team and a No. 2-ranked team in back-to-back matches after downing No. 2 Virginia in Charlottesville on Sept. 15.
All of this has helped the Demon Deacons finish second in the ACC standings for just the second time with a program-record seven ACC wins and 22 points.
