Averill Signs Seven to Recruiting Class For 2025

The class continues Wake Forest's long tradition of attracting exceptional international talent as well as a talented crop of players from the United States.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Head coach Jen Averill and Wake Forest field hockey have announced seven new members to the program for the 2025 season.
"We are beyond excited about our incoming class of 2025," head coach Jen Averill said. "These talented academic and athletic women have shown throughout their young development that they are ready and excited to contribute on and off the hockey field. Each one of them has their own unique style and flair to add immediate positive impact upon our program moving forward. They are humble and hard working. Their competitive nature in their academic and athletic pursuits makes them ideal candidates for this great institution. We eagerly await the opportunity to nurture their ambitious careers at Wake Forest."
The class brings a wealth of talent and diversity from across the globe, with three student-athletes from South Africa, two from the United States, one from Canada and one from England.

- Selected to play against Scotland and Wales in March 2024.
- Field Hockey Canada U16 National Team: 2022 - present
- Toured with Team Canada to the Netherlands in May 2023 to play in the Den Bosch International Tournament. Played defense and midfield and led the team in scoring for the tour and the tournament.
- Played in the May 2022 games series versus the United States Nexus Under-16 national team.

- Trained in twice-weekly sessions with the combined U-16 and U-18 squads under the direction of Field Hockey Canada coaches.

- Captained the British Columbia U-16 team to gold at the 2023 national championships.

- Has been called up to play U18 since age 14 (youngest player on the team).
- York House School Varsity Field Hockey Team: 2021 - present
- Selected to the Varsity team as a grade 9 student. Started all games since.
