- Field Hockey:
- Wake Forest closed out the regular season on Friday evening, as a valiant effort against No. 3 Virginia led to a double overtime thriller before the Deacs fell 1-0. After the match, the program honored the contributions of six seniors and graduates for their contributions.
- The Demon Deacons now turn their attention to the ACC Tournament, which will be hosted at Kentner Stadium from Tuesday, Nov. 5-Friday, Nov. 8. Wake Forest is slotted as the No. 7 seed and will face No. 2 seed Duke Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
- Fans attending the 2024 ACC Field Hockey Championship at Kenter Stadium should be aware of parking options on campus during the tournament. A portion of Lot L and 32 spaces in W1 will be reserved for event parking. The outer loop of Lot A, Parking Lot B, and 20 spaces in Lot E will be reserved for event parking on Thursday and Friday as well. A parking map for the tournament is available by clicking here.
- Women's Soccer:
- Following a dominant 3-0 victory at home over NC State in the regular season finale, the Wake Forest women's soccer team clinched a first-round bye in the 2024 ACC Tournament.
- The Demon Deacons will return to the pitch Thursday evening against three-seeded Florida State in the semifinals at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
- The match is slated for 5:30 p.m. and will be shown live on ACC Network.
- The winner will advance to the final against either North Carolina or Duke, which will take place Sunday at noon on ESPNU.
- Despite being picked ninth in the ACC preseason poll, the Deacs picked up a program-record seven ACC wins for 22 points and finished second in the conference.
- Volleyball:
- Four weeks of regular season play remain for Wake Forest, beginning with the team's final out-of-state trip this weekend.
- The Demon Deacons (13-10, 5-7) are set to travel to the state of Florida for road matches at Florida State and Miami on Friday and Sunday respectively.
- Wake Forest most recently opened the month of November at home, hosting Boston College and Syracuse.
- The Deacs earned a four-set victory over the Orange in their sixth home win of the fall.
- Junior libero Emma Farrell is coming off her sixth season performance of 20-plus digs and ranks third in the ACC within conference-only play in digs (4.35/set).
- Four weeks of regular season play remain for Wake Forest, beginning with the team's final out-of-state trip this weekend.
- Cross Country:
- Highlighted by Angelina Perez and Brooke Wilson notching All-ACC honors, the Wake Forest women's cross country squad placed ninth at the 2024 ACC Cross Country Championships last Friday in Cary, N.C.
- Perez (20:00.07) and Wilson (20:08.8) led the team with 15th and 19th placed finishes, respectively.
- Wilson became the first Wake Forest runner on the women's side to be named All-ACC in back-to-back seasons since Sam Halvorsen (2017-19).
- The squad will return to action on Friday, Nov. 15 in Rock Hill, S.C. at the NCAA Southeast Regionals.
- Highlighted by Angelina Perez and Brooke Wilson notching All-ACC honors, the Wake Forest women's cross country squad placed ninth at the 2024 ACC Cross Country Championships last Friday in Cary, N.C.
- Women's Golf:
- The No. 14 women's golf team finished out their fall season last week with a three-stroke win at the Charles Schwab Intercollegiate.
- Also last week, senior Carolina Chacarra was named as the ACC Women's Golfer of the Month for October. She had two top-five finishes and won the Jackson T. Stephens Cup last month. As a team this fall, the Deacs finished inside the top three in four of their five events.
- Wake Forest will start the spring season Feb. 16-18, 2025, at the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Fla.
- Women's Basketball:
- The Demon Deacons opened the season with a complete team performance on Monday evening, defeating Queens 102-40.
- It marked the first time Wake Forest had reached 100 points in a contest since scoring 106 against the College of Charleston on Nov. 8, 2019.
- Seven different Deacs reached double-digits on the night, led by 15 points apiece from Malya Cowles and Tamia Jones.
- Defensively, Wake held Queens to just 25 percent from the floor while forcing the Royals into 26 turnovers.
- Following Opening Night at LJVM Coliseum, the Demon Deacons are on the road for the next two games as they travel to Charlotte on Thursday night for a tilt with the 49ers. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
- Last season, Charlotte finished 16-15 overall and 9-9 in the American. They are led by first-year head coach Tomekia Reed who comes in from Jackson State.
- The Demon Deacons have won 11 of the last 13 matchups against the 49ers.
