During the 2024 season, Borso was named an ACC All-Freshman Team selection and helped lead the Deacs to the ACC Championship and an Elite Eight appearance.

CHICAGO -- Wake Forest men's soccer's Dylan Borso, who was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team during the 2024 season, has signed a Homegrown Contract with the Chicago Fire. The deal was announced by the Fire on Friday.

Borso becomes the 12th Demon Deacon to sign a Homegrown Contract under head coach Bobby Muuss and the 15th Homegrown Contract signing in program history.

The 12 Homegrown signings since 2017 are also most in the country over the last eight years.

"Wake Forest was my obvious choice for their brand of soccer, but once I got on campus the University and culture truly felt like home," Borso said. "Bobby and my coaches treated me like family, often pulling the best out of me with tough love, which I probably deserved sometimes. My teammates became brothers, and the relationships built in Winston-Salem will last a lifetime. Deac forever."

"Dylan bought into our program from Day 1 and his growth within our system was evident with his performances in massive matches and moments down the stretch for us in the ACC and NCAA Tournaments," Muuss said. "While Dylan was only here for one season, he left a great impact on our team. I speak for our entire program when we say we are proud of Dylan and his accomplishments here at Wake Forest and we look forward to following his journey in the professional ranks."

In his lone season in Winston-Salem, Borso was one of five Demon Deacons to appear in all 24 matches for the ACC Champions, recording a team-high four assists to go along with four goals.

His 24 appearances are tied for the fourth-most in a single season alongside Pariss Mitchell (2024), Ema Twumasi (2016), Anthony Arena (2009) and Andrew Lubahn (2009).

After starting his collegiate debut against VCU, Borso logged his first points in a comeback victory over Syracuse on Sept. 27, as he scored a game-tying goal in the 78th minute before assisting on Basit Umar's game-winner in the 80th minute.

Two weeks later, Borso once again logged three points in a 4-1 result at UNCW, scoring a goal and contributing an assist in the Deacs' non-conference victory.

Between the ACC and NCAA Tournaments, Borso scored two goals and two assists including a spectacular 92nd-minute strike to eliminate defending National Champion Clemson in the Round of 16 at Spry.
