ELON, N.C. - The No. 15 Wake Forest men's soccer team battled Elon to a 0-0 draw on Saturday night at Rudd Field, extending its unbeaten streak to five matches.

The Demon Deacons moved to 11-3-2 overall with the result. Wake Forest finished with eight shots, including three on target, while holding 60 percent of possession and earning seven corner kicks.

Goalkeeper Owen Barnett delivered a standout performance between the posts, making six saves to preserve the clean sheet.

The redshirt sophomore came up with several important stops in the second half, including back-to-back saves in the 76th minute and additional stops in the 84th and 85th as Elon pushed for a late winner.

The result marked Wake Forest's third-consecutive clean sheet and seventh of the season following shutout wins over Syracuse (2-0) and Queens (5-0) at home. The Demon Deacons have now allowed just 13 goals through 16 matches, maintaining an elite 0.81 goals-against average.

Defenders Daniel Krueger, Mason Sullivan and Copeland Berkley played the full 90 minutes, alongside midfielder David Ndong Nguema.

The result came against an Elon squad that is unbeaten at home in its last 12 matches dating back to 2024.

FROM COACH MUUSS
"I'm proud of my group. I thought for 75 minutes, we were the better team. Their chances were a couple of half-chances in transition, and obviously, they're very good on attacking set pieces. I thought the crowd was terrific. They got behind their team over the last 15 minutes, when things got a little bit chaotic. When we look back at the video, I think we're going to be really disappointed with a couple of chances we missed from a yard or two away to put the ball in the net and get a win at a tough place to play. They're unbeaten at home for a reason.

I thought our guys played good football tonight. We were on the front foot and we got out healthy. We were also able to rest a couple of guys who didn't play tonight as we try to get ready for the next couple of weeks.

Obviously, you want to win, but that was a hard-fought match. I thought it was a very NCAA Tournament-like game on the road, with a really good atmosphere. It felt like whoever lost, their season was going to be over, given the way the game was played. It was a good experience for our guys, and I'm proud of them. We played until the last second, and now we'll rest up for Clemson, obviously one of the top three teams in the country."
