Five goals from four different scorers helped Wake Forest finish its regular-season home schedule with an 8-1-1 record at Spry Stadium.
The Demon Deacons improved to 11-3-1 overall with their fourth consecutive victory, finishing the regular-season home schedule with an 8-1-1 record in Winston-Salem. Four different players found the back of the net, with senior Jeffrey White opening the scoring before Ethan Subachan recorded a brace. Oliver Kurnik and Joby Reid added second-half goals to complete the shutout victory.
Wake Forest controlled the opening stages, holding 71 percent possession through the first 20 minutes while building a 6-1 advantage in shots and a 2-1 edge in shots on target. The pressure paid off in the 23rd minute when Alfred Debah found Jose Perez, who drove a low ball into the penalty area for White. The senior created space before firing into the bottom-left corner to give the Demon Deacons the lead.
Subachan doubled the advantage in the 40th minute, rising to meet a perfectly placed cross from Philip Biskupski. Will Kuisel earned the secondary assist on the play as the freshman marked his first goal-contribution of the season.
Just five minutes later, Subachan struck again, collecting a long through ball from Kuisel before cutting onto his left foot and slipping the finish past the goalkeeper. Rooney Osei was credited with the secondary assist as Subachan recorded his first brace as a Demon Deacon.
After the break, Wake Forest continued to generate opportunities before Kurnik added his first collegiate goal in the 78th minute. Following a series of blocked shots in the box, the ball fell to the freshman, who poked it past the goalkeeper with the outside of his boot.
Reid capped the scoring in the 89th minute, meeting a perfectly weighted pass from Ronnie Garcia with a first-time finish on his left foot. Perez recorded the secondary assist, completing his first career multi-assist performance.
The Demon Deacons finished with a 21-15 advantage in shots and a 12-7 edge in shots on target while holding 65 percent possession.
Goalkeepers Owen Barnett and Quinn Syrett combined to preserve the clean sheet, the sixth of the season for the Demon Deacons. Barnett made one save in the opening 45 minutes before Syrett entered at halftime and recorded six saves in the second half, keeping Queens off the scoreboard despite the visitors' increased attacking pressure after the break.

FROM MUUSS
"I'm proud of the guys. It was a great team win. We played 24 guys tonight and some picked up their first career points. Rooney had an assist, Will recorded two assists and Oliver came in and scored his first career goal just a couple of minutes after getting on the field, which was great to see. We got three goals from our forwards. Ethan had a great performance coming off the bench with two goals. That's back-to-back great performances for him.
From start to finish, I thought it was a great performance. We were a little loose toward the end and gave up too many shots, but to put together back-to-back clean sheets and finish the homestand with a win is something to be proud of. We were also able to rest a lot of guys tonight, which I think was great as we get ready for a really good Elon team on the road Saturday."
NEXT UP
Wake Forest heads back on the road Saturday, Oct. 24, to face Elon before closing ACC regular-season play at Clemson on Friday, Oct. 30. The Demon Deacons will look to carry their four-match winning streak into the final stretch of the regular season.
