This marks the fourth time the Deacs have had three or more MLS SuperDraft selections in a year under head coach Bobby Muuss.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Four members of the Wake Forest men's soccer program were selected in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, including three second round selections in sophomore Travis Smith Jr. (33rd overall, Chicago Fire), senior Bo Cummins (48th overall, Houston Dynamo) and senior Trace Alphin (59th overall, Real Salt Lake).

In the third round, sophomore Liam O'Gara was selected with the No. 79 overall pick by Real Salt Lake.

With this year's MLS SuperDraft, a player who is drafted by a league club and has remaining college eligibility will have the option to return to school and further their development, but will not be draft-eligible in the future. A selected player who elects to go back to college will have their SuperDraft Priority held by the drafting club for approximately two years following the SuperDraft, culminating on December 31 of the second year.

Travis Smith Jr. | Chicago Fire | Round 2, Pick 33
The sophomore played numerous positions on the backline for the Demon Deacons in 2024, appearing in 22 matches with 21 starts in 1,718 minutes of action.

He played 90 or more minutes nine times during the season and scored his first career goal, a game-winning tally, in the Deacs' 2-1 victory over Syracuse in the first round of the ACC Tournament.

Bo Cummins | Houston Dynamo | Round 2, Pick 48
A highly athletic outside back for the Deacs, Cummins appeared in 64 matches with 31 starts over his four-year Wake Forest career.

During the 2023 and 2024 campaigns, in which the program added a fifth ACC Atlantic Division title and a fourth ACC Championship, Cummins recorded more than 2,400 minutes of action.

As a senior, he earned All-ACC Tournament Team honors as he started the final six matches of the season and went the distance against SMU in the ACC Tournament and against Clemson in both postseason matches against the Tigers.

Trace Alphin | Real Salt Lake | Round 2, Pick 59
Recently completing one of the most decorated careers by a goalkeeper in program history, Alphin ranks No. 2 in minutes by a Demon Deacon keeper (7,050) and tied for No. 9 in both career saves (191) and career goals against average (1.09).

A full-time starter for the Deacs throughout his time at Wake Forest, Alphin earned numerous honors including twice being named a United Soccer Coaches All-South Region selection and earning All-ACC second-team honors each of the last two seasons.

During his senior campaign, the Raleigh, N.C., native started all 24 matches for the ACC Champions as his 68 saves were the most since Alec Ferrell in 2014. He recorded five solo clean sheets along with a combined shutout.

Liam O'Gara | Real Salt Lake | Round 3, Pick 79
Following an All-ACC Freshman Team selection in 2023, O'Gara returned from injury late in the 2024 season to help lead his hometown Demon Deacons to the program's fourth ACC Championship.

After making his season debut in the Deacs' 5-1 victory over Virginia in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament, O'Gara played 49 minutes and scored his penalty kick attempt in a 7-6 PK result over Clemson in the ACC Final.

The Winston-Salem native started the final two matches of the season including a 2-1 overtime victory over the Tigers in the Round of 16.
