Murphy will join the team ahead of the upcoming FIFA International Window.
DUBLIN — Following a stellar 2023 campaign, junior forward Emily Murphy earned her first official call-up to the Republic of Ireland women's national team, as announced by the association Thursday evening.
Murphy was named to the squad ahead of the upcoming FIFA International Window by the association's newly-appointed manager, Eileen Gleeson.
In her first season at Wake Forest in 2023, Murphy helped the Demon Deacons finish the regular season with just two losses, setting a new program record with the previous mark being set at three in 2011. Of note, the Deacs went unbeaten at home for the first time since 2007.
Murphy made an instant impact after transferring in from North Carolina, as the Chelsea academy product racked up six goals, two assists and 14 total points for second on the team, while logging 1,167 minutes of action.
Murphy will be a key part of Ireland's preparation for the Euro 2025 qualifiers set to take place in April.
