Redshirt freshman Kate Deeble knocked down five threes enroute to a career-high 20 points.

PITTSBURGH – The Wake Forest women's basketball team earned its first ACC win of the season, 65-50, on the road over the Pittsburgh Panthers Thursday night inside the Petersen Events Center. It also marked the first road win for the Demon Deacons of the 2023-24 campaign.

The Demon Deacons (5-22, 1-14 ACC) had one of their most efficient performances from three, as the team finished 10-of-21 from deep (47.6 percent), including five Deacs with at least one triple. It marked the third time this season Wake Forest knocked down double-digit three pointers and second time in ACC play. The only other game with more threes this season came in a 94-66 win over Saint Louis in November.

Redshirt freshman guard Kate Deeble finished a stellar 5-of-5 (100 percent) from beyond-the-arc and 7-of-9 from the floor in addition to an assist. Her five threes are the most by a Demon Deacon this season and most since Feb. 19, 2023. From Gebbia
"This was a big growth step for us, and I am proud of this group. We held down most of the players on their team. Alyssa did a great job defensively and really led us in that area. Overall, this was a huge step on the defensive end of the floor. Kate had a career high with 20 points. We adjusted well to what they did, and we gutted it out on the road. We didn't quit when things didn't go well. We are still not done growing and getting better. Now, we need to keep this going and attack tomorrow to go get another one." - Megan Gebbia
