Thomas Kitchell Qualifies for 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- After winning the ACC Championship in the men's shot put, Thomas Kitchell has been selected to compete in the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Boston.

Kitchell claimed the ACC Championship with a season-best throw of 19.32m. Prior to that throw, the senior's longest throw of the season was 19.31m at the Winston-Salem College Kickoff where he finished first in the event. The Bethlehem, Pa. native finished first in all six shot put competitions during the 2024 indoor track & field season

During the 2022 and 2023 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships, Kitchell finished second in the men's shot put. In 2022, Kitchell set his personal best and the longest throw in Wake Forest history with a 19.45m throw at the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships in Blacksburg, Va. During the 2023 season, Kitchell claimed the second place finish with a 18.63m throw.

The 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held from Mar. 8-9 at The TRACK at New Balance.
