Deacons to Visit Virginia Tech in Final Regular-Season Road Showing

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest men's basketball (18-10, 10-7) has one more road test in the regular season this weekend, as the team is set to travel to Blacksburg, Virginia, for a Saturday evening (March 2) matchup at Virginia Tech (15-13, 7-10).
Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET and the evening contest will be shown on The CW.
The Demon Deacons and Hokies met in Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Dec. 30, with the Deacs securing the 86-63 victory.
Wake Forest faced Notre Dame earlier this week in South Bend, Indiana (Feb. 27).
Last Time Out
Kicking off its final week of road action for 2023-24, Wake Forest visited Notre Dame on Tuesday night (Feb. 27). Scrappy defense from both sides took over the second half before the Demon Deacons fell short in a 70-65 finish.
Lead guard Kevin Miller paced the Deacs with team highs of 16 points and five assists in 39 minutes played. Cameron Hildreth got into a scoring flow early to finish with 15 points, shooting 50 percent from the floor. The junior guard had an impact on the rebounding end as well to snag eight rebounds.
Deacon big man Efton Reid III tallied his fifth double-double of the year, piecing together a line of 12 points and 10 rebounds in 30 minutes, making four of five field goal attempts.
Andrew Carr chipped in 12 points (5-of-9 shooting), four rebounds and two blocks.
The Deacs outrebounded Notre Dame 38-33 and shot 80 percent from the free-throw line.

Junior guard Cameron Hildreth is only 89 points away from reaching 1,000 for his collegiate career. Having started in each of the team's 28 games this season, he ranks fourth on the roster in scoring (13.5 ppg) second in assists (2.6/game) and third in rebounding (4.9/game).
Through his three years up to date with the Black and Old Gold, Hildreth has made 93 appearances and has started in 56 of 61 games since his sophomore campaign in 2022-23.
