Seaver King, Adam Tellier and Cameron Gill all finished with two hits a piece and contributed all seven Wake Forest RBIs Tuesday night.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Returning home for the first time in over a week, the No. 16 Wake Forest baseball team earned a 7-3 victory over Triad rival High Point at David F. Couch Ballpark on Tuesday night.
The Demon Deacons (14-6, 2-4 ACC) extended their streak to 16-consecutive games with at least one home run, as junior Seaver King and graduate student Adam Tellier both went deep against the Panthers (7-14, 1-2 Big South). Of note, Wake Forest has recorded at least one home run in all but one game this season.
King, Tellier and graduate transfer Cameron Gill all finished with two hits a piece and contributed all seven Wake Forest RBIs Tuesday night. Additionally, all nine starters reached base for the Demon Deacons as the team combined for nine hits and six walks.
On the mound, sophomore right-handed pitcher Ben Shenosky earned his second start of the season and allowed just three hits, no walks and one earned run through four innings of work in addition to a career-high six strikeouts en route to picking up the win on the mound.
In relief, fellow sophomore Joe Arriola pitched a scoreless fifth inning and struck out a pair. Junior William Ray recorded his first-career save and retired all four batters faced in just 10 pitches. He entered in the bottom of the eighth with the bases loaded and got out of the jam with one pitch, as he forced a pop-up to second base.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Starter Ben Shenosky got the contest started with a strikeout sandwiched between a pair of groundouts to keep the Panthers scoreless in the first.
- Wake Forest struck for a pair of runs off back-to-back homeruns from Adam Tellier and Seaver King.
- For Tellier, it marked his team-leading ninth homer of the year and second-straight game with a shot out of the ballpark.
- King went opposite field for his sixth round-tripper of the year to increase the Wake advantage.
- It marked the first back-to-back homers since Nick Kurtz and Brock Wilken in the 2023 Winston-Salem Super Regional against Alabama.
- Shenosky retired High Point in order in the second, adding his second strikeout of the contest.
- High Point got an unearned run in the third to get on the board and cut the Wake Forest lead in half.
- After a hustle double from freshman Javar Williams and single from Tellier, King's big day continued with a two-RBI double down the right field line to extend the Wake lead to 4-1.
- In his final inning of work, Shenosky retired High Point in order for the second time, finishing off a six strikeout performance for a new career high.
- Sophomore Joe Ariola added a clean inning of relief work in the fifth, picking up a pair of strikeouts.
- The Panthers cut the Wake Forest lead to one with a two-run double in the top of the seventh.
- Wake Forest got one of the runs back in the bottom half on an RBI single back up the middle by catcher Cameron Gill, after a double by second baseman Austin Hawke.
- With the bases loaded and two down in the top of the eighth, junior Will Ray entered and needed just one pitch to escape the jam, getting a popout to Hawke to end the Panther threat.
- Gill delivered his second and third RBIs of the games with the bases loaded and two down in the eighth with a single to center field that plated a pair of runs for the Deacs.
- Ray fanned the first batter and retired the next two in the top of the ninth inning.
- Wake Forest defeated High Point, 7-3.
- Seaver King and Adam Tellier both hit home runs against High Point. Tellier's home run tied him for first with Winnay and King's home run put him in third with 6.

FROM COACH WALTER
"That was a good team win today. We needed to save some of our bullpen pieces, our bullpen is fatigued right now. It was huge that we got four really good innings from Shenosky, I was really pleased. He found four pitches for strikes and had good tempo. That is the best I've seen out of his slider and curveball today. I'm really excited about that outing out of Ben.
I'm really happy with Joe Ariola getting a zero up there. Andrew Koshy gave up the one double but got a big strikeout in a huge situation there. He was landing his slider. David Falco got a couple big outs. Then of course, Will Ray, he's been our go to guy all year. He came in and got a huge out with the bases loaded then closed it out in the ninth.
Offensively, Seaver King had a good day today, with a homer then hit another double to drive in a run. Teller had a couple of hits and a home run. Cameron Gill was the story there. When they cut it to 4-3, Cameron hit a single up the middle to make it 5-3. Then he hit another single with two outs to make it 7-3. Ben Shenosky, Will Ray and Cam Gill were the stars of the game." - head coach Tom Walter
