Ashlyn Giles, Thomas Kitchell and Robbie Grace Earn First Team All-ACC Honors on Day Two

The Demon Deacons head into the final day of the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships with nine scorers.
ATLANTA - The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams head into the third day of competition with five All-ACC athletes, nine scorers and four finalists in their respective events.
Junior Ashlyn Giles finished third in the women's shot with a season-best throw of 16.65m. Not only did Giles' throw garner her first team All-ACC honors but it is the longest throw in the outdoor women's shot put in Wake Forest history.
In the second day of the heptathlon, Addison Berry finished strong in the final three events and claimed fifth place with 5,071 points. Berry became the third scoring Deac and garnered second team All-ACC honors.
During the evening, Thomas Kitchell added another podium for the Deacs with a third place finish in the men's shot put. In addition to garnering first team All-ACC honors, Kitchell recorded a personal-best 19.16m throw, the second-longest throw in program history. Connor Mathis placed seventh with a personal best throw of 16.89m. Mathis's throw in Atlanta ranks sixth-longest in Wake Forest history.
In the men's 800m prelims, Rynard Swanepoel and Jack Balick qualified for the finals in the event. Swanepoel finished third with a time of 1:48.10 and Balick placed 16th with a 1:50.31.
In the final event of the night, Robbie Grace secured the third podium finish of the day for the Deacs in the women's long jump. Grace earned first team All-ACC honors and a third place finish with a 6.27m jump.
The Demon Deacons will begin the final day of competition with Leia Braungel in the women's shot put at 2:00 p.m. ET at the Griffin Track. Live results can be found here and the final events will be streamed on ACCNX at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. ET.
