Reinisch joins juniors Josh Hartle and Nick Kurtz as leaders of the 2024 Wake Forest Baseball team.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - In what has been a breakout season for the senior, Jake Reinisch was added to the list of Wake Forest baseball captains, head coach Tom Walter announced on Wednesday afternoon.

"As the season unfolded, Jake was an obvious choice to be added to our list of captains," Walter said of the addition. "I couldn't be more proud of him and the influence he has had on our ballclub. He's been our steadying force. He's a guy that the rest of the clubhouse can go to and lean on for support. I'm just really proud of him. We have three unbelievable captains in Nick Kurtz, Josh Hartle and Jake Reinisch. I'm really proud of all three of those guys and Jake is a welcomed addition."

Reinisch has been Mr. Consistent for the Deacs, as he is one of just three players to start every game thus far, and has reached base in all but five games to this point of his final campaign.

So far this season, the Clifton Park, N.Y. native has racked up 59 hits, 56 RBIs, 14 home runs, 30 extra-base hits and 32 walks.

Additionally, he ranks high among the Deacs in multiple offensive categories with a .321 batting average, .423 on-base percentage and .647 slugging percentage.

The senior left the yard in all three games of the Western Carolina series over the weekend.

Reinisch had a hit in all three games of the series in the last road series at Boston College, including  doubles on Friday and Sunday and three RBI over the three-game set.

Against No. 8 Florida State, he hit a home run in both games of the Saturday doubleheader and helped the Demon Deacons take their third-consecutive ACC series.

Reinisch has at least two RBIs 18 times this season to go with 14 multi-hit efforts during his senior campaign and is one of just two Deacs to go over the 50 RBI mark this season.

His four hits against High Point on May 1 tied a career high and marked his first time doing so since his four-hit performance against Georgetown in early March.

Reinisch and the rest of the Demon Deacons return to action at David F. Couch Ballpark this afternoon against North Carolina A&T. First pitch against the Aggies is set for 5 p.m.
