Five Demon Deacons earned All-ACC Academic Team Honors as Rachel Kuehn was named ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year for the second time.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the second consecutive year, five members of the Wake Forest women's golf team were named to the All-ACC Academic Team while graduate Rachel Kuehn was named ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year, the league announced on Monday.
This is the second consecutive year that Kuehn has earned ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year honors, as she also claimed the award during the program's historic 2023 season that culminated with an NCAA Championship. With her selection as ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year, Kuehn added one final conference honor to her legendary career at Wake Forest both on the course and in the classroom.
During the 2024 season, the Asheville, N.C. native –who earned her Master's in Sports Media after graduating from Wake Forest with a degree in Business and Enterprise Management last year – won both the ACC individual title and the NCAA Regional individual title and was named All-ACC for the fourth-straight year.
Kuehn was also selected as a second Team WGCA All-American, her fifth All-American honor, and a finalist for the ANNIKA Award, which is given to the top Division I women's golfer.
She is only one of two Wake Forest women's golfers to be named ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year, with Natalie Sheary earning the award in 2011. Keuhn also becomes only the second player in program history to be named to the All-ACC Academic Team four times alongside Marrissa Dodd (2012-15).
Kuehn is joined on this year's ACC All-Academic Team by Carolina Lopez-Chacarra, Macy Pate, Mimi Rhodes, and Brooke Rivers. This marks the second consecutive year that five members of the women's golf team have earned All-ACC Academic honors.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's contests to be considered for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team.
