The sophomore is the third Deacs in the last two seasons selected to the preseason all-conference team.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest field hockey sophomore Mia Schoenbeck was named to the Preseason All-ACC Team, announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
In her debut season, Schoenbeck netted two goals and an assist to finish her freshman campaign with five points. She made 13 starts for the Demon Deacons, appearing in all 17 matches.
The Louisville, Kentucky native was one of just two freshmen named to the NFHCA South All-Region Second Team. Schoenbeck recorded her first career goal with the game-winner at Ohio and opened the scoring against Colgate in the Deacs 4-0 win on the road.
A member of Team USA at the 2024 Junior Pan American Championships, Schoenbeck helped guide her country to silver at the games, including a goal in the 32nd minute against Canada in the final game of the group stage.
Schoenbeck and the Deacs open the 2024 season on Friday, August 30 in Ann Arbor, Michigan against Iowa at 3 p.m., as part of the ACC/BIG Ten Challenge.
Wake Forest opens the home portion of the schedule Sunday, September 8, against Harvard at 12 p.m. in Kentner Stadium. Admission to all home matches is free.
