The Hendersonville, N.C., native placed first at the Panorama Farms Invitational while setting the 8k course record last Friday.
CHARLOTTE – Following an incredible performance at the Panorama Farms Invitational last Friday, junior Rocky Hansen was named ACC Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
In his first race of the season, the Hendersonville, N.C., native shattered the Panorama Farms course record, clocking a time of 22:44.4 en route to the individual title.
"I'm very honored to be selected as this week's ACC Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week," said Hansen. "I'm super excited with how training is coming for not just myself, but also for my teammates. I'm fired up to see what we can do at the ACC Championships next week."
This marked Hansen's fourth ACC weekly honor of his career and first since he was named both ACC Men's Performer and Freshman of the Week on Oct. 11, 2023.
"Rocky continues to do impressive things," said Director of Track & Field and Cross Country John Hayes. "He works incredibly hard in his quest to be the best, so this was a great start to his season."
Hansen and the rest of the No. 10 Wake Forest men's cross country team will be back in action next Friday as they are set to defend their title at the 2025 ACC Cross Country Championships in Louisville, Ky.
