WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - This Saturday's game will mark the 105th all-time meeting between Wake Forest and Duke, with the series dating back to 1889.
Duke has won the previous three meeting between the two teams, with all three games being decided by one possession. The last Wake Forest win came during the 2021 season, when the Deacs defeated Duke inside Allegacy Stadium, 45-7.
Quarterback Sam Hartman recorded five total touchdowns against the Blue Devils as he threw for 402 yards and three touchdowns, while also adding 61 yards and two scores on the ground. The Deacs would go on to win the ACC Coastal division and make their first appearance in an ACC Championship game since 2006.
Wake Forest will be looking for their first win inside Wallace Wade Stadium since they defeated the Blue Devils 59-7 during the 2018 season. Quarterback Jamie Newman threw for 177 yards and four touchdowns in the win. This marked the largest margin of victory by a Wake Forest team in the series as the win also helped the Demon Deacons secure bowl eligibility.
