Cooper Flax Named Second Team All-American

The four-year starter capped off an incredible career with nine goals and seven assists in 2025.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Wake Forest senior midfielder Cooper Flax has been selected as a United Soccer Coaches second team All-American, as announced by the organization Friday. Flax earned the second All-American selection of his career following a standout campaign in which he led the Demon Deacons in both goals and assists.
This selection is the latest honor for Flax, as he earned United Soccer Coaches first team All-South Region recognition earlier this week after previously being named an All-ACC first team selection last month.
With his selection, the Dix Hills, N.Y., native is the 13th United Soccer Coaches All-American selection under 11th-year head coach Bobby Muuss. He is the third second team honoree for the Demon Deacons during that span and the first since Kyle Holcomb in 2021. Flax is also one of just five players this season that earned their second-career All-American honor.
Additionally, Wake Forest has had at least one All-American in all but one of the 11 seasons under Muuss.
Wake Forest United Soccer Coaches All-Americans Since 2015
He ranked top 10 in the ACC in the three major offensive categories, sitting second in total points, third in goals and sixth in assists.
He delivered several statement performances throughout the year, including a hat trick and seven-point outing in Wake Forest's 7-0 win over Liberty (Sept. 22), a crucial late winner at Cal from the spot (Oct. 11), a goal and an assist in a dominant 3-0 victory over Notre Dame to close the regular season (Oct. 31) and a stellar two-goal performance at SMU in the ACC Tournament (Nov. 5).
The two-time All-American totaled 21 career goals and moved into a tie for 18th on Wake Forest's all-time scoring list with Geraint Davies (1986-89). He also moved into 20th all-time in career points with 59.
