On Feb. 5, Dreher traveled to Washington, D.C., to speak on her experiences with the Voice in Sport foundation, as well as her knowledge on Title IX and the challenges women in sports face.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest graduate student Molly Dreher, who is a cross country and track & field student-athlete for the Demon Deacons, is currently enrolled in the Project Management Master's program and is set to earn her degree in May of 2025. In 2024, she earned her Bachelors of Science with minors in Gender Studies and Chemistry from Saint Mary's College.
Meanwhile, beyond her tremendous efforts in the classroom that include being named to the NCAA Academic All-American, a McKeon Award Recipient – given to the top student-athlete for the class of 2024 commencement award at Saint Mary's College of California – and the 2025 All-ACC Academic Team, Dreher races in the 1-mile and 3,000-meter indoors, and the 1500m and 5000m outdoors for Wake Forest's track and field team. Thus far, during the 2025 indoor season, she has set personal bests of 4:45.36 in the mile and 2:52.83 in the 1,000m, finishing fifth and seventh.
Along with those outstanding efforts, she is a passionate policy researcher and advocate for the Voice in Sports Foundation (VIS). It is a digital platform designed to empower and motivate girls and women in sports by providing mentorship, expert insights, exclusive content, advocacy tools and educational resources on Title IX.
In 2021, Dreher began training for Title IX and joined VIS. Through VIS, she has been given the opportunity to reinforce Title IX, and work on research that aims to bridge the vast research gap in sports between men and women.
After joining VIS, during her time as an undergrad at Saint Mary's, Dreher created a women's athlete group to create community, and to show women that we have each other and that we can dream of a better future.
Dreher then conducted Title IX training sessions on Saint Mary's campus, creating a team to help grow this education.
On Feb. 5, she traveled to Washington, D.C., with other VIS members in support of this cause, pushing for greater support for women in sports.
Dreher was honored with an ESPYS as a Billie Jean King Youth Leadership Award recipient in 2023. This honor recognizes the commitment to leadership and service of the sports icon's.
