Demon Deacons Recognized by ACC and NFHCA for Academic Excellence

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest field hockey's success in the classroom was recognized by both the Atlantic Coast Conference and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association, as the Demon Deacons earned 42 honors across three awards this week.
Six Demon Deacons earned all three honors, as freshman Brenna Campagna, junior Amelia Frey, freshman Lena Keller, sophomore Georgia Leary, freshman Mia Montag, freshman Hanna Rathke and junior Sarah Grace Raynes shined academically.
A program-record 19 Demon Deacons were named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Academic Team, while the eight Scholars of Distinction also marked a program best.
The NFHCA National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.
NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction student-athletes must achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and be nominated by their NFHCA member coach.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester, a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career while playing in 50 percent of a team's contests.
