Wake Forest Wraps up First Day of Competition in Florida

Three Deacs finished the day inside the top 30.
MELBOURNE, Fla. - After 18 holes of play at the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Fla. the No.12 Demon Deacons sit in 11th place and nine over par.
With a quiet front nine to start her day, senior Carolina Chacarra currently sits T20 and just one above par, leading the pace for the Deacs.
In her second time out at Suntree Country Club, junior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen finished the day T29, as she shot two-under par through the first nine and notched three birdies. Also tied at two above par with den Dunnen is freshman Chloe Kovelesky, who added three birdies to her card.
Sophomore Macy Pate shot four-over 72, but recorded two birdies on the front nine and shot an even slate on the back end. Graduate Sky Sload ended the day seven-over 72 and recorded a birdie on her last hole of the day.
At the end of the first round, the team sits tied eighth in the field for total birdies with 11 total, as well as top-10 in scoring on both par fours and par fives.
Round Two in Sight
The second round of three will begin at 9:40 a.m. ET. Wake Forest will be paired with No. 4 South Carolina and Alabama. Live scoring will be available all day via Scoreboard.
