
Chacarra and den Dunnen Lead Deacons into Final Round at Moon Golf Invitational

Both Deacs sit inside the top-five heading into the final day of competition.
MELBOURNE, Fla. - After two days of tournament play at the Suntree Country Club, the Wake Forest women's golf team is tied for third and two strokes off of second place heading into the final round of competition in Melbourne, Fla.
On the team leaderboard, the Deacons moved up eight spots from their previous standing and are third overall in par fours scoring. They head into the final round tied with No. 4 South Carolina and two strokes off No. 18 Texas A&M.
Junior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen continued her dominance after she began her day with an eagle and shot four-under-par through the first three holes. The Netherlands native jumped 28 spots through the first nine holes, and finished the day five-under-par. She ended the day second in the field, just one stroke off the top spot and leads the field in par-five scoring with a 4.50 average.
Senior Carolina Chacarra capitalized on her momentum from round one with two birdies and moved 15 spots on the player leaderboard to help boost the Deacons to their top spot. She ends round two with 29 total pars, tied first in the total player field.
Day two of the competition saw improvement for newcomer Chloe Kovelesky, as she finished the day with an even par score and improved 14 places on the leaderboard from her previous day.
Graduate Sky Sload ended the second day of competition four above par after a birdie started her day on the right track. Sophomore Macy Pate shot an even score through the first through holes of the morning and completed her day six above par.

The final round of competition will have a shotgun start at 9:00 am ET. Wake Forest will be paired with No. 16 Ole Miss and Louisville. Live scoring will be available all day via Scoreboard.
