Wake Forest, Notre Dame Meet in Saturday Evening Contest

The Demon Deacons face the Fighting Irish looking to claim their 12th ACC victory of the 2024-25 season.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest men's basketball (19-9, 11-6 ACC) will conclude its two-game homestand on Saturday evening, hosting Notre Dame (12-16, 6-11 ACC) for a 5:15 p.m. tip at LJVM Coliseum. This will be the first matchup between the Demon Deacons and Fighting Irish in Winston-Salem since Feb. 25, 2023.
With three regular season games remaining, the Deacs are currently tied for fifth place in the ACC and will be seeking to earn their 12th conference victory this season and their sixth home victory against a conference opponent.
Last Time Out
The Deacs returned to their home floor on Wednesday night, hosting Virginia in a matchup that would ultimately fall in by a final of 83-75.
Senior guard Hunter Sallis led the way with a team-high 25 points. The Omaha, Neb., native was efficient from the field, sinking 10 of 17 attempts, while adding four rebounds and three assists. Wednesday was Sallis' 14th 20-plus point performance of the season.
Senior guard Cameron Hildreth also had a strong night on the scoring end, totaling 22 points on 56.3 percent shooting. Senior forward Efton Reid III notched his second double-double of the 2024-25 season, finishing with 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Wake Forest won the rebounding battle (27-24) and outscored the Cavaliers in the paint, 52-20.

Since the 2021-22 season, Wake Forest has collected 59 victories at LJVM Coliseum, tied for the sixth-most nationally during that span.

As part of the festivities, Wake Forest will recognize the 2000 NIT Champions along with Hall of Fame inductees Skip Prosser and Ish Smith and Gene Hooks Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Lynne Heflin, who played a vital role for the program for 35 years.
