Chacarra Named to Postseason ANNIKA Award Watchlist

The Madrid, Spain native would be the first Demon Deacon to win this award.

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Wake Forest women's golf senior Carolina Chacarra has been named to the Postseason Watch List for the ANNIKA Award, presented by Stifel. Chacarra has been on the watch list every year of her collegiate career.

Chacarra most recently recorded a top 10 finish at the ACC Championship, during which she also shot the Deacons' lowest round of the weekend to help advance the team to the quarterfinals and eventual championship title match.

Also this spring, the senior made her fifth and final appearance at the Augusta National Women's Amateur and for the first time in her career, made the cutline to compete in the final round hosted at the historic Augusta National. Chacarra finished ninth overall among a globally ranked field of women's amateur golfers.

During the fall, the three-time All-ACC team member recorded five top-five finishes, including an individual win at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup. She currently ranks No. 6 on Scoreboard by clippd and No. 25 in the Women's Amateur Golf Rankings by PGA.

About the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel:
  • Created in 2014, the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel is annually given to the top female Division 1 collegiate golfer; the winner voted on by players, coaches and members of the college golf media. Named for Annika Sorenstam, the award was created in partnership with the Haskins Foundation to acknowledge the top female golfer and to match the Haskins Award presented by Stifel, which acknowledges the top male Division I collegiate golfer. Ingrid Lindblad (LSU) became the 11th ANNIKA Award winner in 2024.
