
Demon Deacons Advance to Match Play Quarterfinals at ACC Championship

Marshall Meisel claimed the fourth top-10 finish of his senior season.
BOWLING GREEN, Ky- Following the continuation of the suspended second round followed by the completion of the third round of stroke play, the Wake Forest men's golf team advanced to match play at the ACC Championship for the fourth consecutive year.
With the help of a clutch six-under par second round, the Deacs battled through round three to claim the the No. 7 seed in match play, finishing stroke play at two-under par.
Senior Marshall Meisel carded the low round for the Deacs each day, turning in three under-par rounds of 71, 69, 71. Meisel contended for medalist honors before finishing T6 at five-under, claiming his fourth top-10 finish of the 2024-25 season.
Making his second ACC Championship appearance, sophomore Tom Haberer carded a bogey-free 69 (-3) in round two to find himself a top-25 finish at one-over.
Junior Jakob Melin and senior Scotty Kennon both finished tied for 31st place at two-over par. Both Melin and Kennon carded under-par opening round scores, ultimately helping the Deacs secure their position on the leaderboard.
Sophomore Kyle Haas ended his first postseason outing in 72nd place, turning in two rounds of 72 (E) and 78 (+6).
For the quarterfinal first round of match play, the Demon Deacons will tee off Sunday with No. 10 North Carolina, with the first tee time set for 9:20 a.m. ET off hole No. 1.

Tournament Format (All Times ET)
Expanding to 15 teams for the first time in Championship history, the top eight teams following three rounds of stroke play will advance to match play. The match-play quarterfinals will begin on Sunday, April 27, followed immediately by the semifinals for a 36-hole day. The match-play final is set for Monday at 11 a.m., as both the semifinals and final will broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.
