Wake Forest will await their NCAA future until Wednesday, April 30.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky- The Wake Forest men's golf team battled to the end of the quarterfinal round of the ACC Championship on Sunday afternoon, but ultimately fell to No. 10 North Carolina 3-2 at The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Ky.

This was Wake Forest's fourth appearance in match play at the ACC Championship, with only Georgia Tech and Florida State having the same amount of appearances.

Senior Marshall Meisel and sophomore Tom Haberer helped put the Deacs in semifinal match contention, and led both of their matches throughout the entirety of the round. Meisel won his match 4&4, while Haberer clinched his match 1&1 on the 18th hole.

Senior Collin Adams fought hard in his match all day against the No. 3 amateur in the world, staying tied through most of his match. David Ford then took back the lead on hole No. 11, ultimately advancing the Tar Heels to the semifinals.

From Coach Haas:

"The Club Olde Stone did a great job of hosting this event. Thanks to the ACC for another great week. Our Conference has only gotten stronger with the addition of SMU, Stanford and Cal. We played well out of the gates today, but could not maintain that level of play needed to beat North Carolina. Three weeks before regionals and we will continue to work hard on mainly our short games. It's always a learning experience to see where you're at as a player and we will address those areas in the coming weeks. Thanks to everyone at Wake Forest, Go Deacs!"
