Meisel in Contention After 36 Holes at Calusa Cup

NAPLES, Fla.- Looking to close out the Calusa Cup strong, the Wake Forest men's golf team wrapped up the second day of tournament play at the Calusa Pines Golf Club on Monday.
After 36 holes, the Deacs finished round two in sixth place with a score of 595 (+19), sitting above No. 8 Virginia.
Climbing two spots up the individual leaderboard, Marshall Meisel closed out the second round with an even-par 72, maintaining his position inside the top-10 tied for eighth place. The senior's first nine holes were steady, making the turn at one-under after two birdies and one bogey.

Sophomore Tom Haberer carded three birdies in round two and stands at five-over par, tying for 22nd place. Senior Collin Adams follows with a two-day total of seven-over par, and holds a share of 26th place.
Junior Jakob Melin ended round two of the Calusa Cup tied for 29th place at eight-over par, while senior Scotty Kennon is currently tied for 31st place at nine-over par.
Teams will play the final 18 holes for round three on Tuesday, April 8, with tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. The Deacs will be in the first group off the first tee with players from No. 4 LSU and No. 10 UCLA.

"Not our best day, but our guys were really battling through some things out there today. We still have a chance to move up the leaderboard, and I know these guys know this course well from playing in this tournament the last few years. That gives me confidence we can finish strong as long as we get some putts to fall tomorrow. Go Deacs!"
