
Wake Forest Rallies in Final Round at Calusa Cup

The Demon Deacons picked up their seventh top-5 finish of the 2024-25 season
NAPLES, Fla.- Turning in their lowest score of the week on Wednesday, the Wake Forest men's golf team claimed their seventh top-five finish of the 2024-25 season at the Calusa Cup in Naples. The Deacs posted a final round score of 285 (-3) with three Deacs posting par or better scores in their final round.
Wake Forest closed out the final round of the Calusa Cup in fifth place with a final score of 880 (+16), finishing ahead of a pair of top-10 teams including No. 4 LSU and No. 8 Virginia.
Senior Marshall Meisel led the Deacs over three rounds, shooting an even par 72 in the final round with three birdies on the day. As the highest finisher for Wake Forest, Meisel penciled rounds of 73-72-72 to tie for 14th place at one-over.
Junior Jakob Melin notched six birdies over his final round, firing a two-under round of 70 to finish off the tournament tied for 21st place.
Senior Scotty Kennon shot his best round in round three, tallying four birdies and two bogies for a two-under 70. Kennon finished the Calusa Cup tied for 24th place at seven-over.
Senior Collin Adams posted his best round in round three, carding a one-over 73. Alongside Adams, sophomore Tom Haberer ended round three of the Calusa Cup tied for 27h place at eight-over par.

Next Up
With the conclusion of the regular season, the Demon Deacons now enter postseason with the ACC Championship starting on Monday, April 28. The Championships will run through the championship round of match play on Monday, April 22.
The ACC Championship will be held at The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Ky. The Demon Deacons have a rich history in the conference's tournament, winning 19 ACC titles.
