Demon Deacons Complete Opening Round of 2025 NCAA Championship

Wake Forest will tee off in the early morning wave tomorrow, starting at 10:25 a.m. ET.
CARLSBAD, Calif. - The No. 7 Wake Forest women's golf team has wrapped its first round of tournament play at the 2025 NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, Calif. The Demon Deacons are currently in 27th place and will look to charge through the field during Saturday's second round.
As a team, the Deacs recorded two holes at par or better during the round: a 531-yd par five on hole 2 and hole 16's 140-yd par three.
Leading the way for the Demon Deacons was freshman Chloe Kovelesky, as she shot Wake Forest's low round of the afternoon at 2-over par. Senior Carolina Chacarra led the team in birdies with four in her opening round, including one on the final hole.
With 12 apiece, Kovelesky and sophomore Macy Pate lead the team in total pars, followed by graduate Sky Sload with 11.
Pate was the only Deacon to record an even par before the turn with just one bogey on her card.
