
Meisel Claims All-American Honors

This marks the 102nd All-America honor in the history of the program.
NORMAN, Okla.- Wake Forest men's golf senior Marshall Meisel was named an All-American, as announced Monday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
This marks the first time in his career that the Chevy Chase, Md.. native has been named an All-American. This also marks the 102nd All-America honor in the history of the program. Additionally, this is the 32nd All-American honor under the direction of head coach Jerry Haas.
Meisel is currently ranked 32nd in the PGA Tour University and 103rd in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. Meisel finished the season ranked as the 95th best player in National Collegiate Golf Rankings
Last month, Meisel earned GCAA/PING All-Region accolades for the first time in his career, earning a spot on the NCAA Division I PING All-East Region Team.
Meisel's Senior Season
Meisel played his best golf at the end of the season as he was the Deacs top finisher for the final four tournaments of the season. He finished the season with a 71.68 scoring average which ranked first on the team and was his lowest scoring average since his freshman season.
After a stellar senior season, Meisel now ranks ninth in career scoring leaders.

In the final tournament of his collegiate career, senior Marshall Meisel carded two under-par rounds and finished within the top-40 at the NCAA Championship. Tying for the lowest single-round score in the second round, senior Marshall Meisel carded a low five-under 67. Meisel started fast with birdies on his first two holes. After a bogey on hole 14, the senior went on to fire four more birdies, going bogey-free on his final thirteen holes.
During Meisel's four years as a Demon Deacon, this was his second NCAA Championship appearance.
Meisel was the highest Demon Deacon on the individual leaderboard at the NCAA Amherst Regional finishing in a tie for sixth place, marking his fifth top-10 finish of the season. During the final round, Meisel was 3-under-par and was the lone Deac to be bogey free for the entire day. This was the second consecutive round that he was bogey free after posting a 4-under score in round two. In total, he was bogey free over his last 38 holes in the competition.
Meisel carded the low round for the Deacs each day at the ACC Championship, turning in three under-par rounds of 71, 69, 71. Meisel contended for medalist honors before finishing T6 at five-under, claiming his fourth top-10 finish of the 2024-25 season.
In the fall, the senior fired a final round of 69 (-3) and finished runner-up at the Hamptons Intercollegiate. Meisel shot rounds of 70-73-69 to finish the tournament in second place at 4-under par. This was his best career-finish, and it was his first top-five finish of his senior season.
Most recently, Wake Forest competed at the NCAA Championship for the 49th time which is the 10th highest total in NCAA history, the Wake Forest men's golf team qualified for the 2025 NCAA Championships. For the first time since 2021, the Demon Deacons advanced to the final round of stroke play after a thrilling morning playoff victory against Georgia Tech. Additionally, it marks the third time since 2019 that the Demon Deacons have finished inside the top 15 or better at the NCAA Championship.
