The Demon Deacons and Mountaineers will meet in a pair of neutral site matchups in Charleston and Greensboro over the next two seasons.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest men's basketball and the Big 12's West Virginia have announced a two-year neutral site series, beginning with the Holiday Hoopfest presented by the Charleston, West Virginia Convention & Visitors Bureau on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025. During the 2026-27 season, the Demon Deacons and Mountaineers will meet at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C.

Tip time and television for this year's matchup – along with a date for the 2026-27 matchup – will be announced at a later date.

A Look At The Matchup
The Demon Deacons earned 21 victories and the program's first-ever double bye in the ACC Tournament. With 13 ACC victories – tied for the most in a single season in school history and the second time in four seasons the Deacs have hit that mark – Wake Forest earned its highest regular season finish since the 2008-09 campaign.

Wake Forest matched the school record for road ACC victories with six and became the only ACC program to sweep the West Coast swing with victories at Stanford and Cal. Additionally, the Deacs set a new program record for ACC victories over a four-year span with 47 since the beginning of the 2021-22 campaign.

West Virginia, meanwhile, finished with a 19-13 record and is entering the first year of the Ross Hodge era after he was announced as the program's 24th head coach on March 24.

The 2025-26 Schedule

This two-year neutral site series announcement is the latest for the Deacs as they head into the 2025-26 season.

Wake Forest will complete a two-year series with Michigan in Detroit on Nov. 11, face a stacked field in the 2025 Baha Mar Championship Nov. 20-21 and host Oklahoma in the ACC/SEC Challenge on Dec. 2 at LJVM Coliseum. The Deacs' non-conference portion of the schedule concludes on Dec. 21 when Wake Forest begins a two-year home-and-home series with Vanderbilt
Additionally, Wake Forest's ACC opponents for the upcoming year have been announced, including home matchups with Big Four foe NC State along with Louisville and Clemson, as both programs finished the 2024-25 campaign ranked in the AP Top 25.
