Two Demon Deacons carded rounds under par across two rounds.

LAKE BLUFF, Ill. - Following 36 holes at Shoreacres in Lake Bluff, Ill., Wake Forest women's golf is in a three-way tie with No. 1 Stanford and No. 2 Oregon for the lead at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup, while junior Macy Pate leads the individual competition at five under par.

The Demon Deacons bounced around the boards during the first round, but found their pace in the afternoon. After they shot four over par in the morning, the Deacs rallied back and shot two under in the afternoon to wrap the day at two over par.

With two consecutive rounds under par, Pate spearheaded the push into the top spot for the Deacs. The 2024 ANWA Invitee stayed in the top-3 across both rounds and wrapped the first day five strokes under par. Pate carded a stellar 36 holes, with just four total bogeys and nine birdies to land herself at the top of the leaderboard heading into the final round.

Following her second collegiate win this past weekend at the ANNIKA, sophomore Chloe Kovelesky completed her day at three under par and shot 67 during the second round, tied for her career-low round. Kovelesky also carded the first eagle of the competition and totaled six birdies to move into the top three.

In just her second outing with the Demon Deacons, graduate student Casey Weidenfeld battled through the difficult course to push herself into the top-20.  Weidenfeld remained under par through the first seven holes of the day after back-to-back birdies on her second and third holes of the first round.

At one over par, graduate student Morgan Ketchum carded her best round in the second half of the day. Ketchum entered round two at four over par, however carded just two bogeys during round two and totaled 28 pars headed into the final round.

Senior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen shot her best round of two during the morning's competition with five birdies across the first 18 holes.
