Maxwell Earns ACC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

The forward is the second Demon Deacon to receive weekly conference nods this season.
CHARLOTTE – After scoring the opening goal and notching an assist on the game-winning strike to lead the Demon Deacons past No. 9 Duke, freshman forward Kylie Maxwell of the Wake Forest women's soccer team has been named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
With the nod, Maxwell becomes the second Demon Deacon to be tabbed with ACC honors, following redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper Valentina Amaral, who earned co-defensive player honors in Week One.
The Langhorne, Pa.-native has started all twelve appearances for the Deacs this season, and scored points in eight of them. In her rookie campaign, she's totaled a team-high five goals and 15 points, and is second on the team in assists with five.
Last Thursday, Maxwell scored the opening strike in the 3-2 victory against No. 9-ranked Duke Blue Devils and notched an assist on the game-winning goal, which tied a career-high in points for the freshman.
Additionally, the forward ranks highly not only in conference standings but also on the national stage. With her five assists, she is tied first among freshmen in the NCAA, while also ranking third overall among that group in points.
