Saturday Play at Bryan National Collegiate Suspended Due to Weather

The Demon Deacons have a two-stroke lead heading into the final two rounds with multiple players in contention
GREENSBORO, N.C.- After completing 18 holes in round one, play was suspended at the Bryan National Collegiate due to inclement weather on Saturday afternoon.
Sunday's rescheduled second and final round will include 36 holes beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
Wake Forest holds a two-shot lead over the 14-team field at the Bryan National Collegiate, sitting in first place at nine-under par. Additionally, Wake Forest is leading the field in par-5 scoring, birdies made (19) and eagles made (2).
Pacing the Deacs in the opening round was junior Tom Haberer, who carded a career-low 66 (-6). Heading into his final two rounds, Haberer is just one shot off the individual lead after notching six birdies and an eagle in his first round.
In his first outing as a Demon Deacon, junior Nicholas Prieto shot a low four-under 68 and is tied for fourth. Prieto had a flawless front-nine and tallied five birdies on the day.
Senior Boyd Owens ended the first round of the Bryan National Collegiate tied for sixth place at two-under par, while junior Kyle Haas turned in a round one score of 71 (-1) holding a share of 14th place.
Freshman Lorenzo Rodriguez carded his first counting score as a Deac with an even-par 72.

"Very solid round to start the tournament and start the fall semester. All five counting players were involved and around par in the first round. Great round by Tom with a 66 and our newcomer Nick Prieto with a 68. We will start fresh tomorrow with 36 holes and with a two shot lead.
