CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After leading Wake Forest to a 2-0 weekend in California against ACC opponents No. 14 Cal and Stanford, goalkeeper Ruby Butterfield and senior Mia Schoenbeck have been named the ACC Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Butterfield was the backbone of the Demon Deacon defense, recording 10 saves over the weekend and only allowing one goal. Against Stanford, Butterfield faced nine shots and recorded six saves. She finished the weekend with a 0.929 save percentage and played all 120 minutes for the Deacs. Butterfield has raised her season total to 39 saves, ranking second in the conference.
