Pate Named to First Spring ANNIKA Award Watchlist

This marks the first watchlist appearance for the junior.
COLUMBUS, Ga. - Wake Forest women's golfer Macy Pate has been named to the Spring Watch List for the ANNIKA Award, presented by Stifel. This is the first appearance on the list for the Demon Deacon.
Currently ranked No. 11, junior Macy Pate has had a standout season thus far. The Winston-Salem-native grabbed her first collegiate win this past September at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup. She carded a career-low 54-hole score (202) to help the Deacs to a team title that same weekend.
Most recently, Pate shot two-under at the Moon Golf Invitational for a T3 finish.This upcoming April, the 2024 ACC Freshman of the Year will make her second appearance at the Augusta National Women's Amateur.
The ANNIKA Award is presented annually to the top Division I women's golfer. Previous finalists from Wake Forest include Jennifer Kupcho (2017, 2019, 2019) and Rachel Kuehn (2024), however the award has yet to be won by a Demon Deacon.

About the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel:
- Created in 2014, the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel is annually given to the top female Division 1 collegiate golfer; the winner voted on by players, coaches and members of the college golf media. Named for Annika Sorenstam, the award was created in partnership with the Haskins Foundation to acknowledge the top female golfer and to match the Haskins Award presented by Stifel, which acknowledges the top male Division I collegiate golfer. Ingrid Lindblad (LSU) became the 11th ANNIKA Award winner in 2024.
