Issler Breaks School Record as Deacs Open Wake Forest Invitational

Freshman Natalia Issler logged a time of 2:02.28 to set a new program record in the women’s 800 meters.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest track and field program kicked off competition at the fourth annual Wake Forest Invitational on Friday afternoon at Kentner Stadium, headlined by freshman Natalia Issler breaking the school record in the women's 800 meters.
The Horgen, Switzerland, native posted a program-record time of 2:02.28 to secure fourth place in the women's invitational 800 meters. Additionally, the mark moved Issler into 15th in NCAA Division I in the event this season.
Sophomore Amy Weybrecht added a personal-best time of 2:05.75 in her heat of the women's invitational 800 meters, pushing her into fourth all-time in Wake Forest history.
On the men's side, freshman Harry Parker McLain recorded an ACC-standard mark in the men's 800 meters, clocking a season-best time of 1:49.92.
Junior Hunter Jones logged another ACC-standard mark for the Demon Deacons as he finished the 3000-meter steeplechase in 8:47.31. Meanwhile, freshman Max Cervi-Skinner jumped into the top-10 all-time in the steeplechase after clocking a personal-best time of 8:57.98.
Junior Brooke Wilson closed out the evening by securing a first-place finish in the women's 10,000 meters, registering a time of 33:15.66.
Earlier in the day, the Demon Deacons honored 15 seniors and graduates during their Senior Day recognition, including Emma Douglass, Gavin Ehlers, Issy Goldstein, Lucas Guerra, Mac Hadden, Mackenzie Hart, Andrew Kivett, Kira Lewis, Nick Masterman, Joe O'Brien, Paul Specht, Charlie Sprott, Casey Sullivan, Elizabeth Whaley and Daniel Winter.
