Lewis Named ACC Player of the Week; Golden Spikes Player of the Week

The junior went 8-for-10 with three home runs over the weekend against NC State.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest junior outfielder Kade Lewis turned in a dominant week at the plate, leading to ACC Player of the Week and Golden Spikes x D1 Baseball Player of the Week honors as announced by the two organizations on Monday afternoon.
Lewis guided the Demon Deacons to a 3-1 record that featured a marquee win over No. 7 Coastal Carolina and an ACC series victory over NC State. Lewis was nearly unstoppable, going 10-for-14 (.714) with 10 RBIs and six runs scored across the four games.
He saved his best for conference play, erupting against the Wolfpack by finishing 8-for-10 with nine RBIs, five runs scored and three home runs in the three-game set. Lewis homered in each game of the series, matching his longest home run streak of the season, and capped the weekend with a season-high four RBIs on Sunday.
The Sartell, Minn., native now leads the squad with a .367 batting average on the year and has collected a team-high 58 hits. Lewis leads Wake Forest with 19 multi-hit games, including six games with three hits.
Lewis and the rest of the Demon Deacons return to action against UNCG tomorrow, with first pitch slated for 6 p.m. ET on ACCNX.
