Six Demon Deacons Named to All-ACC Teams

Junior Kade Lewis earned his second-straight All-ACC honor, while Chris Levonas, Luke Costello, Dalton Wentz, Javar Williams and Evan Jones received the first All-ACC honors of their career.
CHARLOTTE – For the fifth-straight year, at least three Wake Forest baseball student-athletes were named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference teams, as voted on by the ACC head coaches and announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
The Demon Deacons have now placed at least one athlete on the First-Team ballot in 10 of the last 12 All-ACC teams.
All-ACC Demon Deacons
- Chris Levonas (First Team)
- Led the ACC in strikeouts with 110 during the regular season
- Led the ACC in BAA, holding hitters to a .175 average against
- Tied for the ACC lead with 10 wins on the season
- One of just seven qualifying ACC pitchers with an ERA below 3.00
- Recorded double-digit strikeouts five times this season, including a season-high 14 against LMU.
- Kade Lewis (Second Team)
- Back-to-back Second Team All-ACC honors
- Led Wake Forest with a .359 batting average
- Team-leading 25 multi-hit and 18 multi-RBI games
- Ended the regular season on an 18-game reached-base streak
- Recorded at least one hit in 42 of 55 starts
- Luke Costello (Third Team)
- Fourth in the ACC with 17 home runs on the year
- Led Wake Forest with 61 RBIs despite missing seven games
- Sits at fifth in program history with 16 hit-by-pitches in a single season
- Hit two home runs against Stanford (3/7) and Siena (2/22)
- Led the team with 23 two-out RBIs
- Dalton Wentz (Third Team)
- Went 10-for-29 over the last seven games of the season
- More than 50 percent of his hits this season have gone for extra bases
- with one triple, 16 doubles and 16 home runs
- Recorded at least three hits on six different occasions this season
- Enters postseason play riding an eight-game hitting streak
- One of just two Demon Deacons to start every game
- Javar Williams (Third Team)
- Second in the ACC with 30 stolen bases
- One of just two Demon Deacons to start every game
- Seventh in the ACC with 62 runs scored
- Raised his batting average from .271 as a sophomore to .335 as a junior
- Second on the team with 22 multi-hit games
- Evan Jones (All-Freshman Team)
- Tied for the team lead with three saves
- Holding opponents to just a .175 batting average against
- 52 strikeouts in just 38.2 innings of work
- Held right-handed hitters to just 12 hits in 88 at-bats
- Earned a three-inning save in his last appearance against Duke
