Deacs Conclude Competition at Jim Green Invitational

Senior Casey Sullivan secured a seventh-place finish in the women’s shot put.
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Wake Forest track and field team concluded competition at the Jim Green Invitational at the University of Kentucky Track and Field Complex on Saturday afternoon, highlighted by a top-10 finish from senior Casey Sullivan in the women's shot put.
Sullivan recorded a throw of 14.96 meters to secure a seventh-place finish.
The Closter, N.J., native has recorded one of her best seasons during her time as a Demon Deacon, setting multiple career bests in the shot put and the hammer throw during the outdoor slate. Notably, Sullivan logged a career-best distance of 15.73 meters in the shot put at the Wake Forest Invitational, marking the fourth-best mark in school history.
Meanwhile, sophomore Jazmine Thompson added a distance of 14.29 meters in the women's shot put. Thompson also posted a distance of 43.43 meters in the women's discus.
