WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest men's basketball continued to excel in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year as the program was named a recipient of the 2025-26 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award while Mekhi Mason, Owen Kmety and Vincent Ricchiuti, were named to the Honors Court.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes programs that complete the academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher, while the NABC Honors Court recognizes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2.
Mason, a communication major, completed his collegiate career after appearing in all 34 games with 12 starts during the 2025-26 season. The senior averaged 7.4 points per game, knocked down 46 three-pointers to rank third on the team and scored in double figures nine times. He opened his Wake Forest career with a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double against American before recording a season-high 26 points against Virginia, the most points off the bench by a Demon Deacon in the Steve Forbes era.
Kmety, a finance major, appeared in two contests during his senior campaign. He scored his first career points with an emphatic dunk on Seniors & Graduates Day against Cal before also seeing action in Wake Forest's first-round NIT matchup against Navy.
Ricchiuti, a finance major, earned Honors Court recognition following his junior season. He appeared in four games, scoring six points while shooting 2-for-4 from beyond the arc. Ricchiuti connected on three-pointers against Campbell and Queens and logged a career-high three minutes versus the Camels.
The NABC academic awards are presented annually to recognize outstanding achievement in the classroom by men's college basketball teams and student-athletes.
