Wake Forest to Host Annual Walt Chyzowych Clinic

Free community event set for Aug. 14 at Spry Stadium thanks to Firewood Camps.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest men's soccer is proud to announce the return of the Walt Chyzowych Clinic, set for Friday, Aug. 14, from 5:30-6:45 p.m. at Spry Stadium.
The annual community event is open to boys and girls ages 6-13 and will once again celebrate the lasting legacy of one of the most influential figures in American soccer while giving young players the opportunity to learn from the Demon Deacons.
The clinic will be free for all participants thanks to the generous support of Firewood Camps. Their contribution will allow Wake Forest to donate more than $5,000 to the Walt Chyzowych Memorial Fund while eliminating the registration fee for all attendees.
Clinic participants will have the opportunity to train alongside members of the 2026 Wake Forest men's soccer team and coaching staff while enjoying giveaways, autographs and an evening at Spry Stadium. Registration is limited to the first 200 participants, and the event is expected to fill quickly.

Legacy of Walt Chyzowych
Walt Chyzowych served as Wake Forest's head men's soccer coach from 1986 to 1994. Under his leadership, the Demon Deacons captured the program's first ACC Championship in 1989, helping establish Wake Forest as one of the nation's premier collegiate soccer programs.
Beyond Winston-Salem, Chyzowych left a lasting impact on the game as U.S. Soccer Federation Director of Coaching, where he developed coaching licensure programs and played a key role in the development of Olympic, World Cup and youth national teams. His influence continues to be recognized throughout American soccer and at Wake Forest, where his legacy lives on at Spry Stadium.
About the Walt Chyzowych Memorial Fund
Established in 1995, the Walt Chyzowych Memorial Fund was created to carry forward Chyzowych's vision through youth development initiatives, scholarships and coaching education programs. This year's clinic, made possible by Firewood Camps, will continue supporting those efforts while making the event accessible to even more young soccer players.

Registration is now open and is limited to the first 200 participants. Families are encouraged to register early to reserve their spot for this free community event honoring the legacy of Walt Chyzowych.
