Struck out at least eight batters in all four of his starts, including three efforts of 10+ strikeouts ... Opened the year by fanning 12 without a walk in a win over Milwaukee (Feb. 15), allowing two runs on five hits ... Struck out eight batters over 6.0 innings at Long Beach State (Feb. 22) ... Went 7.0 innings against Brown (Feb. 29), striking out 10 with one walk, conceding two runs on three hits ... Spent the majority of the season in the weekend rotation, finishing with a 4-4 record and 6.49 ERA in 15 appearances and 12 starts ... Struck out 94 batters over 68 innings for a mark of 12.4 Ks/9, the third highest ratio in program history ... Had a hot start to the season and was named ACC Pitcher of the Week twice in the first month ... Earned the honor for the first time on Feb. 18 after striking out 11 in 6.0 innings of two-hit, one-run ball against Georgetown, while walking only one batter ... After striking out 11 in a win at Elon (Feb. 25), Shuster again earned the weekly honor by blanking Furman (March 3) over 7.0 shutout innings, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out 12 ... Made 22 appearances, including six starts, finishing 0-3 with a 7.41 ERA ... Struck out 32 batters in 34.0 innings on the mound ... Best outing of the season came against High Point (May 15), tossing 4.0 shutout innings with two strikeouts, two hits allowed and no walks ... Tossed scoreless outings against ACC foes North Carolina (March 31), Duke (Apr. 8), Boston College (Apr. 14), Clemson (Apr. 20 and 22), NC State (May 11) and Louisville (May 23) out of the bullpen ... Spent the summer with the Bedford Bay Sox of the NECBL, recording a 2-4 record, 2.76 ERA and a league-leading 62 strikeouts in 49 innings.
